The word "smart library" first appeared in the literature, dating back to 2003, when Aittola et al., from the Library of the University of Oulu in Finland, presented a paper entitled "Smart Library: location-aware Mobile Library Service" at the International Symposium on Human-computer interaction Mobile Devices. Aittola believes that smart library is a mobile library that can be perceived without space constraints. It was not until IBM put forward the concept of "Smart Earth" in 2009 that the related research of intelligent library was really carried out. There is not a unified definition of intelligent library, and researchers have given corresponding descriptions from different angles, for example, from the perspective of intelligent building, from the perspective of Internet of things, cloud computing and other technologies, it also includes related research related to the concepts of digital library and compound library. After the hybrid library (fusion library), intelligent library is a new type of library based on the Internet of things and digital library. It not only has the corresponding technical foundation of Internet of things, cloud computing, but also has the characteristics of digital library. The technical foundation of the intelligent library is: digital technology, network technology, intelligent technology; the core is: the interconnection of people; the essence is: from the original knowledge service to the wisdom service to realize the digital benefit to the people; the external characteristic: ubiquity, it is represented by providing services anytime and anywhere with the help of modern information technology. Inherent characteristics: people-oriented, in addition to traditional literature, information, knowledge services, provide to meet the growing personalized needs of users, practice people-oriented. Intelligent library is a leap in the innovation, promotion and transformation of library in service concept, technology and management form.
