Semantics refers to the meaning contained in language, and semantics is the study of language meaning. In the field of product design, this method of linguistics is introduced to study the linguistic meaning of products. Product semantics holds that design is no longer just a breakthrough in the form of functional use, but extends the factors of design to the scope of meaning. Product semantics in design is to give meaning to a product and visualize that meaning. Product semantics comes from semiotics, a study of symbolic communication. Semiotics, in a broad sense, is the study of the theory of signs, sign phenomena and sign systems, and specifically, the study of the nature, development law, various meanings, mutual relations and interaction with human beings.
