Study on Cross-cultural Adaptation of International Students in China from the Perspective of New Media

This work focuses on the cross-cultural adaptation issues of international students in China under the perspective of new media, conducting an in-depth exploration of relevant theories, challenges, current status, and achievements. It aims to present the development of cross-cultural adaptation among international students under new circumstances and cultural integration strategies. Firstly, based on theories such as online social support, network social support, online social capital, and willingness to communicate in Chinese, it clarifies the relationship between new media and international students' cross-cultural adaptation, existing problems, and development pathways. Secondly, by analyzing new media platforms like WeChat and TikTok, this research examines the lifestyles and habits of international students in China. It also investigates the feasibility, current status, principles, and recommendations for applying short video platforms in cultural education. Finally, it discusses strategies for media literacy education and media image construction for international students. Against the backdrop of the new media era, this work holds significant theoretical and practical value for studying the cross-cultural adaptation and development of international students in China.
